CFO Symposium NSW
On 12 and 13 September The Strategy Group organized its annual CFO Symposium for New South Wales in Australia. Almost 150 Chief Financial Officers, Finance Directors, General Managers of Finance, Group Financial Controllers and Chief Accountants from organisations headquartered in New South Wales gathered in the Hilton Sydney for 2 days.
19 speakers provided their insights, experience and advice to this peer to peer network and displaying their strong commitment to the regions Finance Chiefs. Speaker’s, such as Peter Legg, Director Finance & Corporate Service of the NRL and Paul Bloxham, Chief Economist HSBC ANZ, were given the floor.
One of the main messages at this CFO symposium is that the Australian is stronger than the media do make us believe. Paul Bloxham outlined the fact that the rich resources that Australia holds will increase in demand as China and India are continuing an annual 10% growth on GDP. When it comes to Working Capital and a Cash Conversion Cycle within Australian companies, the outlook is that cash will stay very important as the high interest will stay high and thus attracting external cash will stay expensive.
